We have reached peak winter rainy day weekend.

After a couple of weeks break from posting a blog, I'm back.

This week's blog post is my roadtrip to the 45˚ Fibre Festival in Gore at the beginning of May. It features knitting and spinning and buying crafty things, and winning a raffle prize.

@moss Scrivener is the best writing software. It's just so useable and also intuitive for writers.

I just finished reading "A fellowship of bakers and magic" by J. Penner. The book was good, but it was missing a spark of magic that would make it amazing.

The premise sounded great, which was Great British Bake Off meets cozy fantasy, but it felt like the heart of the book was missing.

I just checked, and it was self published. I think a good editor might have made it an even better book.

@MsHearthWitch I'm an unpublished writer of fantasy/sci fi, and have a lot of friends who have self published. A great editor who does a lot of work in the genre, makes all the difference.

The book was good, maybe a 3 star, but the spark to make it a great book was missing.

A Wizards Guide is on my TBR list, I can't wait to read it.

@MsHearthWitch Yes, I agree completely. Beta readers are equally important as they can tell the writer important stuff like that. I've been a beta reader for lots of my writing friends, and also a judge in writing contests for the Romance Writers of New Zealand.

OMG, are you me? I also have depression, and my will to write died during covid.

According to my BIL who is a truck driver for Envirowaste there’s black ice all around Dunedin. Multiple accidents between green island and mosgiel.

I have to return the heart monitor I’ve been wearing all week to the hospital tomorrow morning. I won’t miss wearing it.

No SVT symptoms in the last week,apart from two times today when it briefly felt like an SVT style heart racing incident was trying to start. Neither did.

The last time it happened was 22nd March when I mucked about with the times I took the Bisoprolol beta blocker. That was grim. That last standard incident was 18th January.
