I’ve been reading The Boxcar Children series to my daughter for a few months. Read first 16 book, then dove into The Jessie Files, a spin-off series focusing on the character of Jessie and her friends from The Boxcar Children. If I can slip it in I’ll add lines how Jessie wishes her 2 best friends from the other series were there. Overall both are well loved series by my 8 year old. Definitely recommend both to parents with little ones @bookstodon

I’ve dusted off an old abandoned that’s I’ve had sitting for years (ok decades). I started this story when I was in high school, forgot about it till I found the original papers about 10 years ago. Since then I’ve slowly added to it, but was never my primary focus. I think it’s finally time to finish this story. @bookstodon

I got a 1 star on my latest book yesterday. I’m trying to figure out how this happen, purely on a technical aspect. I’ve never sent an ARC to anyone named “Alexander.” Also, this person only has 15 total books read on their profile. The other 14 a different genre, then there’s my book. Best theory I can come up with is this person didn’t want to ruin their pristine account by giving a 1 star so used another account to do the dirty work. @bookstodon

@ashtardeza @bookstodon I hadn’t considered that, but it does make sense. Even before I published my first book I learned never to publicly respond to reviews. I’m not about to respond to this one. It’s just hard because I’ve had horrible luck getting reviews this time around, even from people I’ve worked with in the past.     10/24: Are you a book hoarder, or do you sell them/give them away once read?

    I am, in a way. I'm starting to give away books I know I won't ever read again.

    And since I moved to ebooks, I hoard those. I read a lot through KU, and when I like them, I go and buy them, giving the author as much money as I can. Sometimes, I buy 99ct books to support an author, even if I won't read them.

    So yeah. I'm keeping what's MINE. 😉

    I'm a book dragon, after all.

    @1dalm @bookstodon I’m not sure about the mystery part, but I’ve got a character driven book recommendation for you — The People We Keep by Allison Larkin. If you’re looking for mystery I could suggest The Couple at No. 9 by Claire Douglas, The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins, and Sin City by Jennifer Samson. If you read any of these I’d love to hear what you think of them

    I have a question for the . When you launch a new book how long do you keep the presale window open before the release date? One month? 3 months? 6 months?
