It’s me. Hi! I’m the problem, it’s me. I contain multitudes: aspiring writer, amateur photographer, tech enthusiast, armchair sociologist, recovering alcoholic, Trekkie, squishy human. Too soft for all of it. 🇵🇭 born, 🇺🇸 made. Queer and proud.

You know these fuckers made it sound like ScarJo on purpose. They’re absolutely shameless and will rip off anyone and anything. But now that they’ve been caught, they’re trying to play innocent.

Broadcom may not be the worst company in the world—it’s quite a competitive space, after all—but damn, they’re going for the crown. Absolute fucking clown show from top to bottom.

Though the Global North (the United States in particular) contributed to climate change the most, it’s the Global South paying the price. But good luck getting the Global North (Americans in particular) to care.

Meanwhile, Trump is asking for $1 billion from oil and gas executives in exchange for tearing up environmental regulations.

This is some blatant quid pro quo, even by American standards. (Bribery is essentially legal here, provided it’s channeled via campaign finance in a specific manner.)

Senator Bob Menendez of New Jersey was indicted not because he was corrupt, but because he did it wrong. C’mon Bob, you should’ve funneled the money into a dark money PAC. Taking it in gold bars is a fucking rookie mistake.

I saw someone on Instagram trying to sell jpgs of his black and white film photo as an NFT. I had to check which year we were in

@skinnylatte Wait, there are people still trying to sell NFTs? 😳

I’m sure the Red Sox fans amongst you will be amused by this news.

(FYI: I root for the Dodgers, so if any of y’all wanna hate on the Yankees, I’m right there with you.)

“Order must prevail.” That phrase alone betrays so much. You may protest, but it must be in the place we designate and in the manner we prescribe. And anyway, it’s useless, since I’m not changing my mind. The status quo must be upheld at all costs.

Conveniently, he and many others overlook the fact that the violent “outside agitators” they blame are often the police. The chaos stems not from the protests, but from the response.

It’s shocking, but perhaps not surprising, that Biden has lived through multiple eras of student protest—and seemingly hasn’t learned anything along the way.

More on the conflation of antisemitism and criticism of Israel, from @TheRaDR. Alas, the thread is on Bluesky, but it’s worth a read.

It’s all too obvious how The New York Times feels about the campus protests sweeping the world. They’re not even trying to hide it.

I can’t say I’m surprised. So much about the NY Times makes sense when you know it’s a paper by the powerful, for the powerful.

I keep thinking about how, in 2003, I was a student protester against the Iraq War. Despite the government’s insistence, despite the media’s complicity, we persevered. We knew what the war was really about, and we knew it would end in disaster. And sadly, we were right.

Students were right about civil rights and Vietnam in the 60s, students were right about apartheid in the 80s, students were right about Iraq in the aughts, and students are right about Gaza today. Listen to them.

I have an Apple Watch Series 5 running watchOS 10 point whatever-the-latest-release-is. Every now and then, I see the red dot denoting new notifications at the top of the screen, but can’t pull down to see them. The only way to fix this is to reboot the watch.

Anyone else experiencing the same issue? Or is my watch just too fucking old?
