Thinking about how I used to use Linux and I'd like to get back to it when Windows 10 has run its course, but 2 of the main things I do on my computer (Adobe programs and VR) aren't doable in Linux.

I guess I'll dual boot and use Linux for programming and web surfing, but like... What do I do when Windows 10 stops getting security updates?

Oh, I just realized my current eye tracking set up probably won't work on Linux either, so I'd have to figure out an alternative. (Does Linux even have Tobii drivers/software? I know Talon has eye tracking of some sort, although it works differently than Precision Gaze Mouse, which I like a lot.)

And I'll need Windows to test my website with NVDA because that's much more commonly used than Orca, so I can't do all my web dev/programming on Linux.

We are losing SOME tools to track @Covid19's rise and fall, but we still have good data. Biobot is diminishing its COVID data and the CDC is no longer requiring hospitalization data. But:

@augieray But NWSS data doesn't go back to the start of the pandemic, does it? One of the really helpful aspects of Biobot has been comparing current levels to previous surges and lulls, as well as to case data back when people still tested (available on Biobot's graph). The Biobot data is also simply ppm (or something similar?) rather than an opaque value.

The International Astronomical Union () are hosting an gallery in ! The event is on May 27 from 11am - 12:30pm UTC and May 28 from 8pm - 9:30pm UTC, and showcases astronomical photographs captured with a smartphone 📱🌌

The event is being held in spatial.io, which is accessible from a VR headset (Quest), or just from your computer browser (i.e. no headset needed).

This is a super cool event and y’all gotta go!

Well, I think I have found out why the sizing chart suggested that I - a 35DD - should order a 40A.

Technically, this elastic can stretch to the 36 inch circumference that it claims. However, that is 8.5” (21.5cm) beyond its starting point!

What the actual fuck⁉️ Why would you do this to a person? This thing is SO tight! If I gained even a hint of weight and tried to wear this for a day, I’d have to go to the ER.

I will never buy this brand (Auden) again.

@masukomi How do you feel about sports bras? The sizing is different (small/medium/large) so it might be more annoying to find the right size, but these days I only wear TomboyX sports bras. No foam, no lace. (They do other styles, too, but they didn't work for my body shape as well.)

@masukomi Hm, doesn't look like TomboyX has the style I was thinking of (with a band made of the same cloth as the cups rather than elastic). MeUndies seems to, but I don't have personal experience with those so I don't know how tight they are.

I'm dealing with some upcoming health stuff, compiling SSDI evidence, and unforeseen financial things (we'll be fine, we have savings and for the moment health insurance, but it still sucks).

As a result I'm trying to not waste my energy getting angry on Mastodon about the crackdown on student protests or the genocide in Gaza.

But wow does Biden make that hard. Like fuck off with "trespassing" being illegal protest. The 504 sit-ins and lunch counter sit-ins worked and now get praised.

    So I've decided to get my prophylactic bilateral mastectomy this summer. I'm nervous; I hope that the surgeon I'm probably choosing can get me nice and flat like she said she can. I really don't want to end up with a result that I'm unhappy with and have to get another surgery...

    Also I really don't want to get nosocomial COVID.

    They cancelled my MRI again.

    It was originally in February. Now it'll be in May (or June if my period is late).

    I hate this fucking medical system. "Oh we're so worried about people missing cancer screenings due to COVID." Well fucking let me get my cancer screenings then! Don't wait until the day before to tell me that you didn't get prior authorization for the yearly MRI I need for the genetic mutation that will never go away.

    @aetataureate This is fascinating, and not just for their amusing descriptions of media like Harry Potter and Star Wars. 😂

    I had vaguely heard of tulpas in connection/parallel with plural folks, but not reality shifting. It's interesting, although I agree it's pretty baffling that people are using it to attend Hogwarts and date Draco Malfoy, lol.
