I've received a phishing email with this subject line:

New fax message 08-25-2023

Attached to the message was a zip file (of course).

Wow!

I haven't even thought about fax in twenty years. The phishing email must be targetting a select breed.

Just received notification that the material for my new kilt has arrived at the kiltmakers. Margaret will be starting work soon. I'm excited.

The tartan is MacDonald/MacDonnell Glengarry Ancient. It is very colourful. 😃

The "Wicker Man" walk never fails to provide a surprise. On to-day's we found what looks to be a small cow's horn.

This was surprising for a couple of reasons. Most cattle here have their horns removed when they are young. Honourable exception to this convention is for Highland Cattle. Secondly, the nearest cattle are about three miles away. The horn could have been carried here by a fox, but, I would wonder why. Yet another mystery.

Horn is 25cm tip to base.

For all you #Neachdainn fans out there, here is his latest photo.

He is a happy boy, as he just received a fish cube, one of his favourites.

Yesterday, we visited this place. We meant to go inside, but, spent so much time doing the nearby river walk (dog walk) that we missed the opportunity. We will go back another time.

This place is very famous. Do you recognise it, or can you guess its name?

A closer view of the church showing one of the windows, and some of the statues.

Buying backup media is a thankless and relentless task. In 2020 I bought three 2TB removable discs. All three are 90%+ full, and need to be replaced.

I'm now considering whether I should buy 8TB drives, or something much bigger.

Moving my website to a new platform got me thinking.

I first had my website & domain in 1998. Before that, I had webspace with ScotlandOnline.

Since 1998, I've utilised the following technologies for my website:

  • hand-coded HTML
  • my own database & scripts
  • txt2tags
  • Plone
  • Django/Mezzanine
  • Pelican (latest)

It has been a fantastic journey and learning exercise.

I recommend everyone should have their own website. Don't worry about the technology, just do it.

Currently, listening to Rammstein.

Don't know whether to feel uplifted due to the upbeat music, or depressed due to the lyrical subject matters.

I haven't worn my beanie hat for several months. Even summers in the aren't that cold.

Took it off the shelf yesterday, and noticed it had a dozen small holes. It must've been moths eating it. I can't understand it, the hat is made of ACRYLIC. I hope the moths got indigestion.

Local weather conditions were the same to-day as they have been for days. Yet, there was very little mist, especially compared to yesterday.

A glorious day, in fact.

Unlike many parts of the country we haven't had any snow in the last two weeks. Nothing has fallen from the sky, not even dead birds.

Photo taken from basically the same position as yesterday.

I've been busy for most of the day moving my website to two new platforms, Pelican and Sigal.

Most of my time has been spent migrating the data from the old system to the new. I'm now adding a few missing parts, and polishing the CSS.

I'm beginning to feel happy about it. 😃

I mainly use the Web UI to access my Mastodon account. My 1920x1080 screen results in a lot of empty space when using the four-column layout.

Has anyone got a ready-made Greasemonkey script to widen the columns, or is there a better way?
