Biden knew by Oct 27th that the Al Shifa hospital attack was just barbarism and not fighting against Hamas as the WaPo reported. Then in February the British Medical Journal published a Yale public school of health study that the rate of medical facility destruction was equal to that of all other buildings in Gaza.

From Caitlin Johnstone on Substack- Israel is currently doing its usual song and dance where it claims the AlShifa hospital the last three weeks was a Hamas headquarters and everyone it killed there was a “terrorist”, but at this point the only people buying that schtick are the ones who desperately need to. This was a massacre of profound savagery. It’s as plain as day to anyone who isn’t deeply invested in pretending otherwise.

The University of Michigan, in fact, was a center of student protests during the Vietnam War and Civil Rights periods. The new proposed policy, if it had been in effect at that time, would have virtually criminalized entire graduating classes of the student body.

The vagueness of the policy is deliberate. The intended effect is to give the university a license to ban any protest whatsoever, since all protests by their very nature involve “substantive distractions.”

In this context, the #Gaza genocide has exposed US-NATO imperialism for what it truly is. America’s politicians—the would-be “champions of democracy” and defenders of the so-called “rules-based international order”—stand before the world’s population as a blood-drenched pack of hypocrites and mass murderers.

The social order they represent is likewise exposed: it does not exhibit a tendency towards equality and progress, but towards repression and destruction.

Degrading U.S. standing in the world: this administration came in pledging to reestablish American moral leadership, reengagement with the international community, uphold the law and the so-called rules-based liberal international order, and I think it’s just become clear that this administration is not, in fact, conducting — carrying out any of those pledges. And, you know, my work was on human rights, which is very important work that the State Department does. But I think what the administration may be starting to see is they may have made the wrong decision on that politically.

Almost 160 Palestinians were killed and 195 injured by Israeli attacks between Monday and Wednesday, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported on Wednesday, as heavy fighting continues in northern Gaza City.
Two-thirds of Gaza’s 36 hospitals are “non-functional” while those that remain open are either “minimally” or “partially” functional, according to OCHA.
The International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies reported on Wednesday that the healthcare system in northern Gaza “has been largely destroyed” and is on the “brink of collapse” in the south.

Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the U.S. ambassador to the U.N., made these claims in the session of the Security Council after the adoption of the resolution. Both of these claims are completely false and have no legal grounding. The U.N. Charter in its Article 25, subsequent decisions of the International Court of Justice have made this undisputable. Security Council resolutions are binding on all member states. And the claim that the ceasefire is to be conditioned on other factors like the release of hostages, this is completely false, as well.

According to the annual report published in March by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), 69 percent of Israel’s arms acquisitions in 2023 are sourced from US firms, with 30 percent coming from Germany, followed by Italy, with 0.9 percent.
“At the end of 2023, the USA rapidly delivered thousands of guided bombs and missiles to Israel, but the total volume of Israeli arms imports from the USA in 2023 was almost the same as in 2022,” the report read.
“By the end of 2023, pending deliveries of major arms to Israel included 61 combat aircraft from the USA and 4 submarines from Germany,” it added.

Philippe Lazzarini said the decision was "outrageous".
