Ich habe mir erlaubt, #mastodon.de als Instanz komplett zu sperren. Einer der Admins fällt seit langem dadurch auf, dass er #Propaganda der Hamas verbreitet und Israel diskreditiert, aktuelle Geschehnisse im Nahost-Konflikt einseitig und verkürzt darstellt. Da er Spenden für seine Instanz erbettelt, habe ich die ganze Instanz gesperrt. Wer solche Menschen finanziell unterstützt, macht sich mit ihnen gemein. #mastodon

Statt Blockaden aufzulösen (EU--Richtlinie) setzt der Bundeskanzler mit einem Machtwort eine Blockade durch (-Lieferung an die ). Ob das eine erfolgreiche Kanzlerstrategie ist, erscheint mehr als fraglich. Ganz Europa fragt sich: Hat er überhaupt eine?

Wir hatten gestern eine Diskussion.

Jemand sagte, Titel und Berufsbezeichnungen müssten stets mit Artikeln versehen werden.

Z.B. "Der Professor Hans Maier ging nach Hause."

Ich sagte, das sei Unsinn, es hieße "Professor Hans Maier ging nach Hause".

Außer in Sonderfällen (ich habe vorher vom Professor geredet, aber den Namen nicht erwähnt, und füge ihn jetzt ein: "Der Professor, Hans Maier, ging nach Hause.")

Der Duden sagt nichts dazu.

I took this photo early this morning with my phone using only the light of the tree. Maybe turning the room lights on would have been a good idea. This Christmas is the first Christmas in a long time that we've had a child in the house, our great-grandchild. Hence the new tree, last year I took a ceramic tree, set it on the table, and said ... done. As you might imagine, most of the gifts under the tree are for him. Hmmm ... it feels strange being a great-grandfather. That's the way the world turns.

    So the leader of held his long awaited speech, basically said nothing new, didn't declare war or anything, just support for Hamas. Low intensity fighting on northern border of Israel will probably continue but nothing major.Good news for Israel and the world.

    The "good" news is doesn't seem to want to escalate in the fighting with Israel, also because US forces nearby will probably wipe them out quickly (my guess). Nobody else will come to Hamas rescue so Israel can execute it's military operations what remains a large problem, even if all plan succeeds, what to do with 2 million people, who will govern Gaza? Israel is responsible if they eliminate Hamas🤔 @geopolitics

    Some people try to frame all demonstrations in western cities as supporting Islamic extremists and Hamas, while the overwhelming majority of protestors want to support the palestinian people is my impression.

    Think about the allied forces in WWII. Think about the bombs on cities, about the Normandy invasion etc..

    Do you think that it would have been possible to stop the war, to release the prisoners (KZ), to free the forced labourers without this collateral damages?

    And I live in an area (Ruhrgebiet) with a lot of bomb damages (for good reason -> Krupp factories, weapons etc.).

    Well, you mention Dresden.

    But I mentioned the Ruhrgebiet. And there were civilians (many!, it's like one large city) and factories and rails. So it was clear that there would be collateral damages.
    And in Hamburg was a harbour.

    It's good to repeat what all experts say, without getting into politics, destroying and infrastructure, fighters etc will not solve the real problem. Politicians in Israël need to start talking more about the endgame. There is not even the beginning of an idea about the structural solution it seems🤔
    If that doesn't change this will be like groundhog day every few years... @geopolitics

    It's not only about Israel. It's about Iran too.
    The West has to change its politics (should have it changed long ago). I'm convinced that the German politician Röttgen is right on this issue. Her critisizes the German foreign minister Baerbock about it many times (topic Terrrorliste EU, Atomabkommen).

    I was reading up on the al-Ahli hospital explosion, and publicly available evidence seems to exclude an airstrike, pointing to a rocket that misfired instead.

    The result of the investigation will change little however. Given the amount of ordnance that the IDF dropped on , it was very easy for Hamas to point the finger at them and have most people believe it.

    This shows that siege tactics are not only inhumane, but they're actively backfiring.

    Veränderungen wollen die schon, aber nur solche, die sie im Hier und Jetzt, und wirklich jetzt sofort, als angenehm empfinden.
    Weniger für schnellere Autos bezahlen, noch größere Steaks, 7x Urlaub statt 3x usw..
