Group identity has always freaked me out a bit, and that includes gender. Most mass-murders are committed by men, so you know, not something to be real proud of.

My son seems to love all of the horror movie characters, from Jason and Freddy Kruger to Ghostface and Pennywise.

He's never seen a horror movie. Everything he knows is from kids st school.

I want to show him one, but I'm not sure which one would be a first experience. Any suggestions?

Difficulty: nothing scary in a bedroom, otherwise I'd do Poltergeist. Also, no sex scenes. He's under 10.

I think the first horror movie I saw was Fright Night, and even though it was meant to be kinda funny, i couldn't watch it.

Does anyone know of a Year Zero Engine based game (or something similar) that uses a Doom Pool?

The mechanic I had was too... "doomy". I'd rather borrow from something that works than try and reinvent this wheel.

@masukomi @niten ask the other players to come up with complications then, but not the same player who got the result.

The Shadow of Yesterday does some stuff. Primetime Adventures too.

Maybe check out The One Ring? I think it does some Doom pool type stuff?

    @AlSweigart what about grocery store experience?

    I'm currently in a union(state worker)but for over 15 years, i worked at a grocery store that was very anti-union.

    I think the union did contact us at some point, and there are a few stires in Philadelphia that are oddly union. I imagine the city made the corpiration i happily no longer work for, part of the united grocery store worjers union.

    I know the location i was at was not into it.

    But Stardew Valley is full of thieves and vampires

    I am aware of both the Wild Card series of books and the Expanse, both books and television series.

    It's bloody unconscionable that Covid vaccines and things like Paxlovid are being privatized, after taxpayer money funded research and development. The correct price for a vaccine is $0. The correct price for Covid treatment in this, the fourth year of the pandemic, is $0.

    There's a word, I believe in Latin, that means the central lie in a story that must remain for the story to exist. I knew this tidbit of information awhile back, but now, for the life of me, I can't remember it.

    What I mean is for Little Red Riding Hood to work, you have to believe in a somewhat seductive, talking wolf.

    What's this thing called?

    The central lie that keeps a story from collapsing.
