fixed the heels on my big winter boot socks 🧦🧵🪡

A partially completed darn on the heel, the vertical warp threads are in place, with a small amount of pattern completed across the weave. There's a needle on a thread attached
The socks lying flat as in the first picture, but this time with the heels darned. The one on the left has a simple V shaped pattern with diagonal lines, the one on the right with slightly more intricate diamond

Two related questions for computer graphics people:

  1. is it true that ray/line/whatever intersection tests are common in interviews?

  2. how common are questions of this nature, where you have equations memorized?🤔

  1. yes, super common

  2. they're not really about memorizing equations, more about showing you have a working grasp of 3d maths and basic algebraic operations - if you're comfortable with vectors, dot product, cross product you can likely get to the answer, interviewers are looking to hear your thought process

also i got the sewing machine from british heart foundation for £25, and it works great. strongly recommend stalking their ebay if you're looking to get one on a budget, they seem to have machines coming through constantly
