Hi ho, I'm John. I'm a game developer from way back in the heyday. I wrote some games that sold well. I edited some books that sold poorly. I wrote a couple-hundred book reviews for Gamedev.net. And I taught game development to kids for a couple of years.

Nowadays I'm living in middle-of-nowhere Texas with my wife. I still do some development stuff, but it's pretty casual.

Uploaded my Pong game. It's really my first game, and I probably would do a few things differently, but it's pretty good for a first attempt (in my opinion).

Looks like my Apple Developer account is about to expire, and I'm not re-subscribing. The bulk of the money I made from Apple last year was a class-action lawsuit settlement, so there doesn't seem to be much point.

My $100 Raspberry Pi 400 has a spring loaded microSD card slot.

My $1,000 ASUS Chromebox 3 doesn't. To pry a card out of the slot I need tweezers or similar tools.

Guess which design team is passionate and pays attention to detail.

@amoroso I've been using one as my game console for over a year now. It's a solid piece of hardware.

Despite the lack of a fan, I've had no problem aggressively overclocking it.

Anyone know of a good automatic way to delete all of your posts from xitter? I think it is finally time to send my old account to a farm up state.

@aeva I used a Chrome extension to "manually" delete about 12 years of old Facebook posts. Wouldn't be surprised if there was a similar extension for Xitter now.
