@harld zou ik ook 2 abonnementen kunnen nemen thuis?

Een met een lang lopend contract met een stabiele prijs en een met een variabel contract.

En dat ik dan zelf kan wisselen tussen die twee, zodat ik voor alle prijzen boven de ‘lange contractprijs‘ het lange termijncontract kan gebruiken en voor alles daaronder het variabele contract?

Daar zit vast een ‘het kan wel maar dan heb je aansluitkosten en netwerk-kosten’ component aan.

Nu heb ik een fijn lang lopend contract met lage prijzen, maar dat zou het alleen maar nog interessanter moeten maken.

@Perl when I became Linux Server Amin 25 years ago, I learned Perl. Because I was looking for something beyond Bash and AWK.
I love this script language. Meanwhile I have the feeling that Perl is rather retrocomputing, is my feeling wrong?

just works. But learning Perl is something you don’t do anymore, apparently.

These days you learn since it has a bigger community.

So yes, Perl gets more retro as days pass. But look at the bright side: COBOL and Fortran are retro computing languages too and good programmers in those languages can make a fortune. 😆

@winfried @Perl also, it seems that most programmers are far too practical to spend their time on social networks so there is a low chance of finding thousands of them here. 😇

@winfried @Perl @mjgardner @slott56 @Stark9837 I prefer the term ‘vintage’ over ‘retro’, but I must say, to me personally is far from retro. It’s just that seems to have won the ‘system programming languages for starters’ battle years ago.

I know quite some Perl programmers, none of which are younger that 40 years. But perhaps I just don’t know too many young programmers. 😇

@thunderbird I will just wait until it pops up natively on stable, cannot imagine that will take long.

I have no complaints about the current interface, but I don’t mind getting something a bit more in line with what is usual in interface design today too. 👍🏻

I have been a thunderbird user for decades now and I still recommend it to everybody!

I chose and will support and and will consider whatever goodness the Fediverse offers.

Since I don't use anything Meta, Threads means nada to me. Twitter is toxic and near dead and Bluesky is pretty much vaporwear.

The difference is that I'm not an "influencer". I'm here for the great and interesting people.

Ha, neat. The Dutch government has their own Mastodon instance now.

After the Twitter debacle where you couldn't see posts without being logged in for a while, and it coincidenced with a storm with many emergency messages pointing to Twitter, they decided to take this step. :D

@trinsec they planned this Mastodon server since November when the ministry of internal affairs was bright enough to see that Twitter might be a suboptimal medium and they had to try other options.

My guess is that the timing was just right after that fire department pointed to Twitter.

Whatever the reason, this is a big step forward towards an open government. 🥳
