Newly turned pile. First turning. I didn't have any manure when I built it a few weeks ago but judging by the insides it still built up a bit of heat. Added chicken manure in layers when I turned it. Should work out OK, I will turn it again in a few weeks and a few weeks after that it should be ready to go.

A tale of four trugs- I iterated through a few designs trying to get an ideal garden trug. MK I was too narrow. MK II was too small all over and didn't let the dirt fall through. MK III was probably the best looking but way too heavy. MK IV seems to be just right. Recycled timber and MK I - MK III have now found new homes.

Alyogyne huegelii 'West Coast Gem' – Native Hibiscus. Lots flowering in the garden this time of the year and we have been so busy trying to get on top of the weeds that there hasn't been much time to appreciate it all. The native hibiscus can get a bit long and leggy if not maintained but the flowers are stunning and there are plenty of them.

Every place has its season and for Western Australia it is definitely Autumn. The days are, for the most part, long and warm, the nights are cool. Autumn here is beautiful.

The 4 seasons of the Northern Hemisphere calendar only kind-of fit here, in the Nyoongar six season calendar April-May is Djeran (read more https://www.kooyarwongi.com.au/djeran-season-is-here/)

However you call it, it is still wonderful.
