I just finished this book as part of a local history binge. Marion Mahony Griffin was a remarkable woman, arguably decades ahead of her time. A gifted visual artist and a seriously capable architect in her own right, she was denied, and did not seek the recognition she deserved.

She played a key role in the careers of both Frank Lloyd Wright and later her husband Walter Burley Griffin, including doing a lot (probably most) of the work for 'his' winning entry in the National Capital design contest.

She led a fascinating, unconventional life which makes for a captivating read.

Pixelfed announces leadership transition

The board of directors of Pixelfed.org that acts as the overall governing body for all Pixelfed activities, today announced that Daniel Supernault will depart as CEO and leave the board of directors.

Tuk Cat, the company’s chief meow officer, will serve as interim CEO, effective immediately.

Also, dogs and any content including dogs are now banned across Pixelfed, effective immediately.

    Ever since someone posted Tom Morello's speech at the rock and roll hall of fame I've been realising how much his guitar playing meant to me for my musical development. Especially including how much he jumps around on stage.

    It makes me so happy to see that he gets the respect he deserves from fans

    I can't tell you how good it is to have a protonmail account and have a duckduckgo email that can divert random automated email addresses to the protonmail account. Then I can just deactivate the individual duckduckgo automatically generated email address if it gets spammy.

    I created a bot that boosts/reblogs trending posts from various servers (mainly instances): @pixelhype

    If you'd like to have more pictures in your timeline and find some interesting accounts that you don't know yet, you might want to follow it.

    So, anyone have tips for installing the plugin on a multisite installation?

    I have it working fine on a single WordPress instance, but I'm having a challenge on a multisite setup.

    On the multisite server, in the primary site, I've installed and activated the AP plugin, but it's not working, and in Site Health I see:

    > WebFinger endpoint is not accessible

    > Your WebFinger endpoint https://danyork.me/.well-known/webfinger?resource=acct:danyork@danyork.me does not return valid JSON for application/jrd+json.

    Any ideas?

    @danyork I’ve only set up for the single hosted WP blog. Seems to be ok for that. Mastodon replies get returned as WP comments 👌

    Twenty years ago this morning, I got off a long flight from Los Angeles, was met at the arrivals terminal by my soul-sister, Shil McClean, who promptly took me to Surry Hills for breakfast - and to buy a mobile. "If you don't have a mobile in Australia," she intoned with great seriousness, "You don't exist."

    I became a citizen almost 13 years ago - as soon as I could. Australia has been very good to me. I've never looked back.

    Interesting discussion between #Chinese educated Chinese and #English educated Chinese aka "bananas" 🍌.

    I belong to the latter group and have always felt like an inferior Chinese in Selangor (my state) because I couldn't speak fluent #Cantonese and so-so #Mandarin. The only place I really felt like I belonged was in Penang where people spoke my dialect & I am one of the dwindling numbers that speak it.

    @liztai that does sound about right! I backpacked around Malaysia / Singapore in the early 90’s and fell in love with the Nonya food and malay Chinese culture
