I believe that in software development you can never be 'sure' that: a solution works, is the right one or even fixes a problem. You can merely be "confident enough".
Engineer your workflows to be as flexible as you can so that even if you were not sure, you can be confident enough that you can easily make changes, or even to raise your confidence before putting it in production.
I was initially skeptical about using AI, but I've been pleasantly surprised at its ability to streamline my writing process. It's still my ideas and content, but AI has accelerated how I translate thoughts into words and share them with the world. #AIWritingAssistant
Yesterday, we had to say goodbye to my aunt Johanna. Her laughter and joy were a beacon of light in the lives around her. Her spirit of joy will be a cherished memory in our family. 🕊️
I believe that one of the biggest positive changes I made when upping my #CSS skills is to adopt the #BEM naming conventions (https://en.bem.info/methodology/naming-convention/) and start thinking about my HTML structure in terms of blocks, elements and modifiers.
@f_u_e_n_t_e What I did (and still need to do more) is open the follower and following list of anyone you follow and start clicking on the follow button there :D
Still looking for usable #UML software
It needs to be visual (no code) and able to handle rather big modules and submodules
Sometimes have the feeling I am the only #dev that still uses #uml
@dgoosens I use UML quite a bit, but usually using PlantUML or Mermaid.js because my docs are part of my codebase and upon building I render a static site from them.
Expecially mkdocs is nice as it has a 'watch' feature that re-renders the docs page locally while working on it.
@SenseException Templates are specific to UI Toolkit and is basically a UI Component. It has it's own layout but if you use stylesheets it uses the styling from the stylesheet. Quite comparable with web, where you would have a React Component or Vue Template
Got a birthday present from @ingewikkeldnet, and I received good reviews from my coworkers immediately. I'm definitely going to try it out this evening!
Left for work at the start of storm #storm#poly this morning. Head to get back home from the train station because #NS took all trains in my province offline. Mandatory WFH it is :(
Wow, I think I have just been forced off Twitter..
I use tweetdeck and that has become paid-only in 30 days; AND you burn through the tweet limit fast enough that I can't use it anymore. Not to mention that when you refresh that you lost all the tweets that you could have read.
I must congratulate twitter on making me go to Mastodon full-time cold-turkey :D
@dgoosens yeah, Twitter has finally succeeded in forcing me off their platform.. because these limits are making it completely unusable, even without Tweetdeck going paid-only
