@molly0xfff Back when I did windows work - I actually used to use something like this (over a decade ago) for the purpose of accounting. I had crazy amount of projects and cost centres to bill against simultaneously. I had a life saver of a time recording app slimtimer.com (site is borked nvm) I used to combine with, I can't remember the app that did it, used to take lots of screenshots.

But yeh like anything will be abused.

@darkling @cstross Indeed I wonder what the StackOverflow accepted answer fail rate is. It's quite subjective. Usually the second or third answer on SO is the correct one, the first usually being the product of some diseased brain that doesn't do real work.

@Baxter Not meaning to detract from your commentary on degradation of free provision in A-NZ at all but just fyi:

Although the exams are often not, you can study a wide range of subjects for free via distance learning, or online using e.g. Coursera and Udemy. Nearly every redbrick gives a way courses for free eg. https://cs50.harvard.edu/x/2024/. As a serial academic myself I have done dozens of engineering and mathematics courses. I've even taken some non-technical courses.

If 16 year olds are old enough to vote they probably ought to be allowed to view unrestricted Twitter and Reddit without an age-gate. Are we really saying 16 year olds can vote and have sex but they can’t look at the interweb?

@JamesBaker Ok yuk* but I think we are saying that they are unrelated. Speaking of children you could extend this to allowing children to vote. Surely if you pay taxes you should have a say in how that money is used. There are many individuals with a mental capacity of a child that are legally allowed to vote. Seems unfair. You should have to pass a test before you are allowed to vote.

Except for some pedo GOP states 16 year olds are minors.*

@JamesBaker minors can work but it is entirely appropriate that they not be exposed to pornography. Perhaps instead of stopping kids accessing it there publishers should just not do it. Pedo spez should be locked up.

I have a theory about why every social media post about either cyclist or biker safety immediately gets swamped by really angry car drivers who want to kill us, and it comes down to ignorance.
Most cyclists and bikers are also car drivers, so we can see both points of view.
Most car drivers are only car drivers, which makes it harder to understand the different points of view. Learning to drive a car should include some time on 2 wheels. #BikeTooter #motorcycle #CarBrain #roadsafety

@sj Hey remember back when I 'did Windows' my humble noname live on the land framework from circa 2003 was almost entirely wsh/vbscript, lots of the printer and ole/ocx bugs still worked a decade later. So I am sad but I know that they will still be finding vbscript in all the most surprising places at the worst possible time well into the next decade.

Dems should state LOUDLY that if elected they will bring a Corruption Bill where a justice having been impeached, is found to have in the past with no statute of limitations, not recused themselves when they had a clear conflict of interest such as say, heard a case involving Jan 6 as a conspirator themselves, that they be found guilty of treason and corruption, such felony carrying the ultimate sanction, they having broken their solemn oath to the people.
