I've been working on the rulebook for Rogue Element, I think I have a wee bug for it tbh and I can't wait to get it actually printed.

Surprised me how fun it was to make the sheet that goes with the game for tracking your campaign progress. Will get it printed and play through another game or two with it to make

Play testing Rogue Element today and I think I've figured out where the rules were falling down. There was too much reliance on randomness, now that's balanced with a little push your luck instead. I think I've figured out a way to make it play better as a 2 player too, though it will be inherently asymmetric.

Painted something just for fun and the glory of my hoooouuuussse

Since I know I won't get time to get many done I'm keeping the paint job really simple and just calling out the main stuff. Tried really hard to keep the red in the colours to help them look more cohesive and board gamey when playing.

Half of the clear plastic ghosts box painted up. Knowing how quick and easy they are, I'll smash through the other half of the box when I only have a couple of hours to spare.

Done some drawing tonight, I think I might actually be getting better. 3D modelling gas definitely helped me a lot just sort of figuring out shape. Not entirely but a wee bit. These are for a project I'm cooking up, of which they will be just a small part.

I think it's time for a miniatures clear out. My hobbying has changed so much just in the last year and I have very limited space for storage. Not sure there's much secondary market for 3D printed stuff but I would be loathe to just destroy anything

Making some good progress with Rogue Element. Play testing again later today will have fully printed boards, painted one up to test out some colour, think I'm going to go over the pink with a more orange colour

If anyone watches Ninjon on YouTube, which I'd recommend, he recently did a video on some palette cube thing to decide his colours. I got my image from Pinterest but tried the same thing with the Elf Duelist I designed. Some interesting take aways but I think I need to try it a few more times. It's interesting not having a specific flesh tone. This was based mustard yellow, highlighted up through ivory, and slightly shaded with dark red. She may have jaundice.

Finished my snake despite being run down. Think I got a wee bug at Carronade, my own foolishness for not masking up. Got too caught up in being there.

The bottom part of the jaw never quite printed right but I was happy enough to just paint it and not worry too much.

Finished Ditto yesterday too but had to finish the base, although I realised after putting it together there's some print issues. I'm ok with it. I really like the retro robit meets star wars droid look.

I kind of dislike the whole Instagram thing but I'm trying to grow a page for my 3D modelling. Because I don't like to hustle and don't enjoy being on the app that's going... Slowly.

I had the thought of doing a commission for someone who has some followers, maybe them painting it for their page would help it grow. So if anyone knows anyone (or is someone) on Instagram that needs a custom mini, I'm offering, if they're willing to paint it. If not maybe give this a wee boost?

Okay fuck this for a game of soldiers.

Have been bed-ridden* since Tuesday afternoon incapacitated by fucking flu, and last night at 00:30 I woke up to an arrhythmia. Beta blockers worked a treat the way they usually do and I've now had enough of being ill.

Got mildly dressed, went downstairs, and am now tapping into that sweet sweet endorphins release.

@erikcats you can't casually ask an etymology question and not get an actual answer, time to rizz 'em with my 'tism! Ridden is from rider, so you're riding your bed. Riddled would be if you were covered in beds, and comes from hriddel which I had to look up, it's a kind of sieve, so to be covered in holes I guess.

A THREAD ON THREADS!

I’m receiving lots of questions about our position on federation with Threads and realised I haven’t posted on this subject for a while.

We have lots of users who do want to federate with Threads, and lots of users who don’t. It’s my job to find a good solution that works for everyone.

Our position has always been to start from a defensive stance due to our technical and moderation concerns.

So what sort of solution do we think might keep (almost) everyone happy?

@trumpet that content is front and center if you just look and is deliberately unmoderated. That's why it's a line I won't cross. But if that's what your users want.
