Alea iacta est: I'm moving instance. No beef with urusai social, I really like this place and how it's run, I just want to move to an Italian instance. Been trying this out secretly for the past few weeks — a "catch-up" timeline page. Did whole bunch of iterations, where I myself is the guinea pig, but this time reaching a point where I just got to share it out in the public.

  • NOT final design, still very experimental, only on my local machine
  • Instead of algo timeline, this is focused on data-grid-like UI for configuring exactly what I want to see.
  • This honestly could be another full-fledged app/client by itself 🫠

Demo of Catch-up page where it shows the Home/Following timeline with configurable filters and sort options.

Ok finished the first episode and laughed more than I should have! I don't know if I'll keep up but it's a really nice adaptation. All the additions fit very well, in particular the exaggerated mannerism of the princess is hilarious, I'd rather ignore the subtitles and watch her convulse and bounce. Plus, nice to have a couple beautiful screenshots for my "archive". And finally, I'm glad my imagination was right when in the manga I assigned a male voice to X

What I wish Mr. Villain was. This is how you do a one note joke show. 🤣. This is absolutely ridiculous. I can't stop laughing. The food looks great and the reactions were killing me.

I'm looking forward to this being a lot of fun this season. Need episode 2 now.

@neatchee thanks for the background! I don't find the argument very convincing but then again I'm not part of those subcultures, and I get it can be annoying.

I was thinking about the issue of QT a bit more earlier and I think a good reason to have QT would be to avoid interoperability problems with other systems that use it (threads, but also some forms of pleroma iirc). But still I don't like the idea much, although maybe having smaller communities here it would not be that bad

Are there any good "feminist" out there? It doesn't necessarily have to have overt philosophically themes (but it def can), just anime that have well-written, well-rounded leading women characters.

A lot of the anime I consume has mostly hypersexualized women characters (I don't go out of my way for that, it seems like it's just kind of a staple of the medium). For instance, I really like shonens, but they can be super fan-servicey. I'd like to shake that up.

I know there are some great Miyazaki characters, but other than that, I'm not aware of many others. are very welcome.
