    Gesundheitsminister Lauterbach antwortet in einem Schreiben vom Januar, dass er die Vorlage einer Gesetzesänderung in diesem Sinne noch in dieser Legislaturperiode plant und im Übrigen keine Einwände gegen die Fortführung der etablierten Praxis bei der Übernahme von geschlechtsangleichenden OPs bei binär trans Personen hat. Eine Übernahme der Kosten bei nichtbinären Personen durch die gesetzlichen Krankenkassen hält er ohne Gesetzesänderung nicht für möglich.

    Das Problem: Es ist kaum noch Zeit in dieser Legislaturperiode! Wenn Lauterbach das Versprechen nicht bald wahr macht und einen Gesetzesentwurf vorlegt, sehe ich wenig Chancen, dass es in dieser Legislaturperiode noch fertig wird. Man sieht ja, wie lange das schon im gesetzgeberischen Limbo hängt. Aber zumindest eine akute Verschlechterung der Situation von binär trans Personen dürfte durch die Einigung, die bisherige Kostenübernahme fortzuführen, abgewendet sein.

    Spitzenverband der Krankenkassen empfiehlt trotz des BSG-Urteils die geschlechtsangleichenden Behandlungen von binär trans Personen nach den bisherigen Maßstäben weiterzuführen. Der gemeinsame Bundesausschuss hat Gesundheitsministerium zu einer schnellstmöglichen gesetzlichen Neuregelung aufgefordert, die die Pathologisierung von trans Personen beendet und auch die Übernahme geschlechtsangleichender Maßnahmen bei nichtbinären Personen sicherstellt.

    @daridrea @senficon So the plan is to adopt a transposition that violates EU law in the hopes that it can be applied for a very short time before either the Commission opens infringement proceedings or the AI Act enters into force? Doesn’t sound like a solid plan to me…

    @luis_in_brief @bert_hubert @sovtechfund I think we need many STFs, or better yet an EU-wide bundling of resources to come close to meeting the need for continuous investment and maintenance. Truly conceiving of open source infrastructure as a public service, essentially. The STF was born of the Trump administration’s threat to the OTF and the realization that we should not rely on only one government to do this work. Hopefully others will take note.

    AI is giving a bad name, with the tired old arguments of security through obscurity. Just because open source alone does not guarantee the responsible development and deployment of an AI model, that doesn’t make it any less essential. The best guardrails will ultimately not stop a proprietary model from regurgitating the problematic inputs it was trained on, and intransparency over this process only seeks to obscure the problem.     The European Commission has launched its transparency database of platforms‘ decisions (statements of reasons in lingo). It already contains thousands of records from platforms such as that will hopefully give some quantitative insights into their content moderation approaches, the degree of automation etc. Unfortunately, the qualitative information on individual decisions is very limited. https://transparency.dsa.ec.europa.eu/statement

    I hope the restrictions on csv exports of the transparency information will be lifted by the Commission. So far, we’ve had voluntary sharing of info by some platforms through @LumenDatabase. This mandatory database could offer so many more insights, but the data needs to be fully downloadable. I advocated for this transparency provision in the , hope journalists find it useful! @josephcox @jasonkoebler @samleecole

    @LumenDatabase @josephcox @jasonkoebler @samleecole @mikarv Never mind, the advanced search does allow filtering for platforms, but instagram does not seem to be reporting to the database yet (which they will have to start doing). TikTok, Pinterest, Google Maps seem to be reporting in real time, though.

I would like to filter all results by platform, but there seems to be no straight-forward way to do so. Full-text search for "instagram" doesn't yield any results, Advanced Search seems to be set up for very specific queries, not for exploratory data analysis. @mikarv curious what you think.
