Also completed it recently on my Miyoo Mini Plus, it was a blast :Blobhaj_Default:

Do you know about (RetroAchievements)[https://retroachievements.org/] ? It is compatible with it since the miyoo mini plus can connect to the internet :Blobhaj_Sneaky:

Did anyone ever make a cracked version of Plants Vs Zombies 2 that like, actually plays like a video game?

There's some mods that are available :Blobhaj_Default:

I was playing AlterVerZ recently :Blobhaj_Sneaky:

Hmmmm / experiment question, what's the most effective balance of low effort and high value between rolling my own:

Instance (I must have a discord bridge too, I know 0 people using matrix)

instance (probably single user instance...can I somehow HOST my posts on sirtaptap.com but still view via mastodon.social? federation sounds intensive & complex)

(sounds relatively simple and 0 server cost when not streaming, right?)

@SirTapTap

I'm hosting a matrix instance and a Mastodon instance, for myself and one or two friends.

Hosting a mastodon instance gives you a much greater control on your experience (adding as much custom emojis as you want, moderation control, fiddling with custom themes etc...), compared to hosting a matrix instance.

If you really need to choose between these two, I would go for mastodon (or other fediverse software, there's lots of them :kirby_happy: ).

You can always create a matrix account on a smaller matrix instance (i.g. not matrix.org)

    Who's got SHORT homebrew, romhack, underrated, or translated games I can play on my Pocket?

    That's technically anything below a PS1 with an FGPA core, more or less, though GB fits the aesthetic more.

    Got it set up on it's dock finally, it's cool but WOOF be careful with your dock you WILL scratch the bottom if it's unprotected and you just push it in.

    Hello, if you're into roguelikes, konami made a really great one for the GameBoy, called Cave Noire

    It does not take too long to complete, and fits perfectly on a portable console. I loved playing this one during my daily commute :blobcatreach:

    Orginally released only in Japan, there's an English patch available.

    Saw tic-80 in the recomandations, and I would like to also mention WASM-4, an open-source fantasy console :Blobhaj_Default:

    It supports a custom palette, online builds as well as native ones, and even online multiplayer :Blobhaj_Sunglasses:

    You can write games in basically every language that supports web assembly

    RetroAchievements? Why on earth would you add achievements to things that didn't have them. I wish fewer new games had them!

    theo,
    @theo@soc.webair.xyz avatar

    @eniko

    I've been playing with RetroAchievements for a long time now, and here's some reasons why someone would play with it (Assuming it is a searious question, if not then I'm sorry for the long reply lol)

    • It is a way to easily track wich games I played, and to what extend

    • Easily view things I've missed in a game

    • Implement more optional challenges (like finish this or that level in a specific way) that would be too clunky to include as a developper in a specific mode.

    For RetroAchievements specifically:

    • Have player take a creative shot at games they like (Often achievement creation are discussed in specific threads)

    • Leaderboards are great for speedruns

    • Subsets are a great way to experience a game in a totally different manner (Like the Green Demon challenges for sm64, or the shiny-dex for pokémon)

    • Discover new games/romhacks/homebrew trough hubs

    I personally enjoy achievements a lot, and don't really see the issue with something like RetroAchievements existing, since it is totally optionnal :Madeline_laugh:

    It's totally fine to not implement them in your games :)

    Love your games btw :Blobhaj_Heart:
