Christ - in what world should someone who legitimately tried to pull an insurrection/coup on the country - something that already should've instantly made them an enemy of the country - get to run for its highest office?

It's ridiculous that this even has to be a "longshot legal bid" - it should literally just be ticking a box!

Israel vows to 'finish the job' in Gaza as War Cabinet member threatens a Ramadan deadline for Rafah (apnews.com)

The U.S., Israel’s top ally, said it instead hopes to broker a cease-fire and hostage-release agreement between Israel and Hamas, and envisions a wider resolution on the war sparked by the militant group’s Oct. 7 attack. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called Hamas’ demands “delusional.”...

Hard to believe there are still people out there saying this is justified...

Whike it's true that Hamas are by no means the good guys, Israel's response to the Hamas attacks is to literally pull a genocide by a different name.

What else do you call straight up bombing buildings and hospitals full of innocent people; sending out kill squads into the streets; destroying any and all infrastructure required to grow and preserve food, and to get potable water; and denying your victims any and all humanitarian aid. Even without the quotes from Netanyahu, Israel's actions say more than their words ever could.

Oddly enough, I think most people aren't motivated by the idea of making bucket loads of money for other people while they see barely a drop of it.

Maybe if you paid people better, they'd be better motivated to make you money.

As the saying goes, minimum wage = minimum effort

Dude, your choice is between an insurrectionist fraud who is almost certainly a Russian asset and a moderate.

While Biden may not be the perfect candidate, the choice of who to vote for isn't difficult.

Th4tGuyII,
Th4tGuyII avatar

It continues to astound me this has to be stated as a political position, as though objecting to Israel committing mass genocide against Palestinians somehow makes you an antisemite.

Mass killing of innocent people is always wrong, no matter who is doing it.

"The right thing" would be to put the man behind bars - anyone that tries to pull an insurrection on their own country (nevermind the other stuff) should be

I wonder how many of those people were a legitimate threat to the police officers' safety such that literally no other method of restraint was possible?

Injecting someone with a high, potentially lethal dose of sedatives seems like a tool that should be used sparingly with up most care, yet these deaths prove they're doing no such thing.

You know the best way to not have the ICC put arrest warrants on you?

Don't commit a fucking genocide, it ain't that bloody hard Israel!

Honestly, I have to agree with the article - while you could say graphics have improved in the last decade, it's nowhere near as much as the difference as the decade before that.

I'd easily argue that the average AAA game from a decade ago looks just as good on a 1080/1440p display as the average AAA game today - and I'd still bet the difference wouldn't be that noticeable for 4K either.

And what do we gain for that diminishing return on graphics?
Singleplayer games are being made smaller, or vapid "open worlds", and cost more due to more resources going to design teams rather than the rest of the game.
Meanwhile multiplayer games get less frequent and smaller updates, and that gets padded out with aggressive micro-transactions.

I hate that "realistic" graphics has become such an over-hyped selling point in games that it's consuming AAA gaming in its entirety.

I would love for AAA games to go back to being reasonably priced with plainer looking graphics, so that resources can actually be put into making them more than just glorified tech demos.

Imagine completely legally swindling your way into living rent free in one of New York's most prestigious hotels only to completely fuck it up by trying to fraudulently claim you own the building

Funny they should be calling people Nazis considering they're the ones actively performing a genocide. I don't see the Brazillians bombing Palestinian hospitals and letting soliders mow down innocent civilians.

[...] where he is the likely nominee for the Republican Party. He is also facing a total of 91 felony counts across federal charges in Washington, D.C., and Florida and state charges in New York and Georgia.

Just want to point out this gem of a paragraph out the bottom of the article...

Less than a decade ago I'd have laughed if you told me that someone could be currently in trial for best part of 100 felony charges, on top of having already been impeached for attempted insurrection, and still legitimately be a candidate for president of the United States

This would be a great talking point in a world where we didn't invent ways to store power, and that night wasn't a thing.

Go figure. Conservative judge does everything she can to delay the trial, and then postpones it, making sure no new judge will be able to catch up with the case in time for the election.

It's fucked up how overtly horrid and traitorous conservatives are nowadays - the founding fathers put too much faith in people when they made that constitution.

I find it hard to grasp how these folks just don't seem to notice what a grifter Trump actually is.
Nobody with a moral backbone could ever do half the stuff Trump did before, during, and after his presidency.

I'm not a Linux fan boy by any means, but you've at least got to give it a fair deal...

Saying Linux sucks because of Google's Android is the equivalent of saying you hate all vegetables because Brussel Sprouts suck.

Biden allowing Israel to perpetuate their mass genocide of Gaza is horrible, and the fact his only meaningful opponent is somehow even worse is abhorrent...

But that really is how it stands. Refusing to vote/voting third party might very well send a message, but it will also hand Trump the key to do far worse, and if anyone out there thinks he won't, they're only fooling themselves.

I feel like it's blatantly hypocritical to sit atop a high-horse calling out everyone else for turning a blind eye to preserve their democracy from a far-right facist whilst turning a blind eye to what their rhetoric leads to.

Ignoring the fact that you're clearly high as a kite - it's all tricks your brain does to conserve resources. Without any focus or filter, your brain would very quickly spread it's resources too thinly, and subsequently burn out.

It is much easier for your brain to process a lot of data about a small number of things, than a small amount of data on many, many things.

Th4tGuyII,

Realistically, what are you gonna do? The time for another candidate came and went, so all intents and purposes you've got either Biden or Trump.

Refusing to vote en-masse to stick it to the DNC sounds great, but is it worth giving Trump the keys to the castle?

The guy who's repeatedly given open support towards Israel "war", told them they should "get the job done" - hell his only condemnation towards them is the fact Israel recorded any of it.

Trump being in would only change things for the worse, and that's just with Gaza - I'd argue the status quo is better than the alternative.

Though it's fucked we ended up in this situation in the first place.

As long as there us incentive to do so, malicious actors will exploit the source code whether it is open or closed...

Making something open source does make it easier for malicious actors, but it also allows honest actors to find and fix exploits before they can be used - something they won't/can't do for closed source, meaning you have to rely on in-house devs to review/find/fix everything.

Do they not realise the subtle difference in being arrested for being a political opponent vs. being arrested whilst being a political opponent?

If you've done legitimate crimes, including say trying to pull a coup of your country's fairly elected government, then you shouldn't be immune to the consequences of those crimes just because you're up for election.

Jim Henson (and everything he created) are VASTLY AND ANNOYINGLY OVERRATED

The fucking Muppets aren’t entertaining. At all. Not even a tiny little bit. First of all, who is their intended audience, even? Not kids, really, because they contain a bunch of references to stuff that kids really won’t get. Kids don’t really know how a rock drummer is supposed to behave. They won’t find Kermit and...

Gotta be honest, feels less like you're forwarding your opinion and more like you're ranting at people for holding the opposite opinion. That was always gonna make you enemies, even here.
