To me, it's more they know they're all wrong but they don't care. They've lost all their credit (for the little it remained, as their bullshit has lasted for some years now) and I don't give them any benefit of the doubt anymore. All these #governments were already bad way before this open conflict. The way they negotiate it is just in the continuity of their usual attitude. They aren't "afraid" of abusing people daily. This is just more obvious.
I'm not astonished my government is doing what it's currently doing as it's what this government has done all the time. All its politics is as wrong as supporting Israel. They're doing wrong by interest. That's my point. So the real question is more if they could really be right somewhere when they just choose the easy option. If it happened, it would only be by chance, not by will. The only thing they're afraid of is losing their "power". Otherwise they're just patronizing.
I see uncertainty and panic beginning to set in with many pro Israel western politicians. The South African ICJ case of genocide against Israel put a huge global and political stake in the ground yet Israel's war crimes funded by USA have only gotten worse since.
