The events of recent days suggest we may be seeing the Israeli endgame take shape. Netanyahu's far right government’s goals are not limited to Gaza: it wants to take over all of Palestine and start a war with Hezbollah and Iran as well.
The longer #nazinyahu prolongs the genocide campaign against Palestine, the longer he stays in power and out of jail for corruption.
Also, the longer #Netanyahu stays in power, the more damage he does to Israel in the long term. He is destroying all the international support for Israel, even though world leaders haven't realised it yet.

Attacking an embassy would be illegal for anyone else, not Israel.

@mondoweiss@general_bludger I don't think Israel is stupid enough to use nuclear weapons unless it is really cornered and feels they have no other means of survival.
Using nuclear weapons against a non-nuclear nation (even thought US has done it) is the red line that will put an end to the impunity of the Israeli regime and there will be very few leaders who would dare openly defend it and justify selling weapons to Israel after that, much less doing business with them.
But, hey, I have been wrong so many times before when I thought "the world" would react to Israeli criminal actions, I am terrified to think you might be right here.

Israel, with Netanyahu on top, wants total submission from the neighbors and complet ownership of all occupied territories including the Golan heights and occupied areas of southern Lebanon.
Limiting the lunacy of Israel is both stupid and dangerous. He is the top of an iceberg of ultra right extremists that most people in the west pretend they don't exist, because of they do, they can't claim Israel is a democracy and Ally of western nations, nor is it by any means sharing the fake human rights and respect of international laws that EU, US, UK and Canada pretend they follow.
Unfortunately, just like Trump, people seems to ignore that over 40% of the Israeli population are standing behind the Jewish ISIS settlers and their out of control crimes against palestinians in occupied territories.
That 40% are now in charge. Even without Netanyahu, they will be there and will push the country further and further into a totalitarian religious theocracy, in par with ISIS and the Taliban but with rainbow colors and western cover.

That would is true, but most of those numbers are reaction to the October 7 and the lies about barbaric behavior of Hamas during that day.
The deeply rooted extremism, mostly from Americans who moved to Israel are the one that has dominated the policies of Israel since the murder of Shamir and the coup of Sharon to unite the far right in Israel and legitimize terrorist groups like Kahanist and Shas into mainstream and Knesset and with populist Netanyahu, into government positions.
Blaming all Israel's criminal actions on Netanyahu, something that the American democrats seems to be doing is going to have devastating consequences for the region because Gant who seem to be the love of American liberals is aa brutal and criminal (if not worse) than Netanyahu but without the obvious Trump like behavior of him and with charm and "respect" of a military leader.
I'm really afraid that Biden, Pelosi and Schumer are playing this game to get rid of Netanyahu, and to save Israel from any accountabilities for their huge number of war crimes committed in Gaza and the west bank.

A military response is a sign of abject failure to address the root causes.

The military wing of Hamas is engaged in a guerilla war against a brutal occupying power, and have stooped down toward the level of the enemy with their taking of hostages.(Note that #Israel has approx 7,000 Palestinian #hostages - many women and children - locked up without charges nor trial in their prisons).
