HamSwagwich, in FSD Beta 11.4.4 (2023.7.20) Official Tesla Release Notes - Software Updates

I've found 11.4.4 to be a bit of a mixed bag.

It really dove for a turn lane yesterday for no reason, and it's never done that before, and I drive that route every day.

The lane changes are a bit more assertive I feel, but I'm not 100% convinced on that.

It's still putting the blinker on randomly when it wants to change lanes then changes it's mind. This is really one of my biggest gripes... It should only ever put the blinker on if it's going to commit to a lane change. This random turning on of the blinker is maddening and makes me look like an idiot on the road.

Also, STOP turning on the blinker on sweeping turns or going around roundabouts. FFS... I really hate the blinker going on when I'm going around a right or left turn that's a long turn, like a curve in the road. Why is the blinker going on?

somethingspecial, in ChargePoint Will "Soon" Offer NACS DC And AC Charging Solutions

I know it's only been 3 manufacturers (Ford, GM, Rivian) and Chargepoint jumping on the NACS train, but it really feels like there's a lot of momentum behind it beating CCS. I haven't used CCS but NACS is just so clean looking, it's really a great design, so I'm glad it's the one that's gaining the edge.

Another bonus that may materialize from this is charge port location. With supercharger cables being short and designed to back in, maybe this will standardize the charge port location by default and eliminate the concern of certain vehicles taking two or more chargers just by how they have to pull into the spot and plug in.

Yeah the NACS plug is just so much easier to use than CCS.

The charge port location is definitely an issue for non-Teslas, but realistically I think we're going to see more non-Tesla stations eventually than Tesla ones, so they will likely have longer cables by default with the NACS plug on the end.

A lot of the Tesla folk are up in arms about "clogging up the superchargers" and that's not what this means... it means there's going to be al to more places to charge your Tesla as EA, Chargepoint, etc... start adding NACS plugs. It's going to ultimately relieve congestion pressure on Superchargers, not increase it.

Catch42, in Florida Gov. DeSantis signs car dealership protection bill banning most direct-to-consumer auto sales

I'm glad Tesla can keep selling in Florida, but that's a disgusting bill and Tesla getting a carve out smacks of regulatory capture.
