Reality TV generally causes a lot more harm than good. Doubly so when it’s being used to circumvent striking workers so that the oppressive bosses can keep profiteering.
And that’s not even mentioning that reality show contestants generally have even worse employment conditions than actors and writers.
I used to love Bill Nye and I dig it if he’s supporting the movement, but isn’t he actually quite a jerk in real life? I’ve heard that he’s said things that really aren’t nice.
I googled his controversies and it seems that most are just mad that he is left-wing or mad he went with a republican to get more funding for Nasa. I couldn’t find anything about how he is personally.
I’d say he’s a curmudgeon more than a jerk. I would be too if I spent my whole life trying to convince idiots that science is real. Source: I used to live in DC, and he did a lot of free talks and stuff around town.
