I still need those apps, like for the keyboard.

montar, I use TinyBit launcher, i think it can do it but i never needed to because junk app quickly go so far in list you just don’t see them.
mustbe3to20signs, Lawnchair can hide, rename and change icons of app starters.
miracleorange, In Kvaesitso, just go to the app list, long press the app, hit the three vertical dots in the corner of the pop-up, and select hide.

velox_vulnus, On later Android versions, you can “disable” apps.

MeowWeHaveAProblem, Shelter can freeze or hide apps. But I think only in the work profile (Shelter) it creates. Not in the main profile.
