Should I bother with #Bluesky for any reason? I’ve had the account forever but I never open the app.

I feel like it’s just a place to consume a steady feed of posts from Big Accounts, not a place of communities like #Mastodon has been for me.

@Chris I haven't made up my mind yet. I resisted Bluesky until early this year. Now I have basically all the platforms, and each one has a few accounts I wouldn't want to miss. But I don't get any engagement anywhere but here, so that's where I mostly post.

@hagedose68 Yeah, Bluesky is clearly not a place worth posting unless you have a massive audience.

I think for me, it comes down to whether I even want that feed of posts from accounts with tens of thousands of followers. There’s a lot there I know I would enjoy consuming, but do I actually need it? It all just seems like junk food.

@Chris It's not only big accounts I would miss. Some of my IRL friends are on Bluesky because they didn't like it here. Most of the accounts I follow have hundreds or low thousands of followers – not small, but also not what I would call big.

@hagedose68 I’m not sure I know a single person IRL who is on there—but then again I haven’t checked. Most of them fell off Twitter long before it went to shit. I’m honestly not even sure how to find people I know over there, unless I go looking for someone specifically.
