Do you have a beta read your fics before you publish them? Or do you prefer to do your own checking & hope that's good enough?...

What's up with this weekend, folks? I'm doing the usual. I have a bit of a buffer, but I want to pad it even further if I can in preparation for some upcoming busy times....

Every fanfic writer I know has one....

For stories with an antagonist, what do you like to see? What antagonists, canon or fanfic, do you enjoy?...

Does anyone read fics that are centred around OCs at the expense of canon characters? Like a story about an OCxOC pairing where the canon characters are only on the side or background to the core pairing?...

What is something you have researched lately for your fic(s)? Or something you learnt a long time ago for one which you still find fascinating?...

I'd been on various other kicks for a while, but this week Fire Emblem: Three Houses pulled me right back down the fan-fiction rabbit hole. I'm not even sure what kicked it off....

After nearly two weeks of no internet at home, I shall have the comfort of mind to catch up on all the writing I've meant to do. There was too much research and fact checking I couldn't do without the internet. When I was away from home, I was not comfortable enough to do the writing. But this weekend! This weekend....

I do not mean SPAG issues or things you consider bad writing/storytelling. What is something which is not actually a problem that you just don't enjoy to the point where you would drop a fic you were enjoying?...

The last chapter of an arc is going up for me tomorrow, followed by the start of the next arc....

Whether long or short, how do you celebrate the completion of a project? I tend to start the next immediately. Less of a celebration and more how I work with my creativity if it is on a roll....

Obviously this phenomenon isn't limited to fanfiction or even writing, but it seems to me that there are (at least) two styles to long writing projects:...

For myself I'm 2 pages away from finishing my latest comic! It's also dawned on me I need to upload 3 finished comics to my Ao3. Just need to set up the mirror for the images since, well, Ao3 can't directly host it....

I'm attempting to polish up the end of the current arc of my longfic. I like having a buffer for my weekly upload schedule! There are two more chapters to write and then I'm on to planning the next arc....

The "Perfect Protagonist" and/or the "Perfect (2 Dimensional) Love Interest" are honestly grating to me....

Or the other way around: something you like to read, but don't like to write? (Not that you struggle to write, but hate doing it at all. Even if you are good at it.)...

I've been rereading a bunch of my favorite MP100 fics, but I should probably get back into doing some writing. Now to choose a WIP. XD

Pretty much all my stories so far have featured a core OC & I realised today that for the couple of one-shots I've done, I have a passing relationship with those OCs, but for the longer stories, it's like I live in the OC's head. I just realized that I seldom write/read fanfiction of books, and when I do, it's because they've been adapted to multi-media. Like, when I was into the LoTR and Hobbit fandoms, my baseline was the movies. When I got into Hannibal, it was because of the TV show. Harry Potter--the recent video game. Even my most recent story, set...

I was pondering this earlier in the week. People have summaries they like and ones they will scroll past without considering the story at all....
