Does Reddit shadowban mentions of Lemmy?
In the months since I deleted my Reddit accounts and joined Lemmy, the lack of user base growth has made it clear that we need some users to stay on Reddit as a means of shepherding more users over on an ongoing basis. Otherwise, Reddit simply got what it wanted: less users who make a fuss about how it manages its platform...

Can you not post videos on lemmy?
I was trying to post a video but it wouldn’t show up as available to upload in Jerboa, is this a per community thing or is it across all of lemmy? It would make sense because videos are inherently a larger file size, if that is the reason
Envisioning my Ideal Social Media Platform: Blending the Best of Reddit and Image Boards
I’m excited to see the new meme browsing interface feature in PieFed. I expected PieFed to be yet another Reddit clone using a different software stack and without any innovation. I believe there’s an opportunity to take things a step further by blending the best elements of platforms like Reddit and image boards like...
Threads’ fediverse beta opens to share your posts on Mastodon, too (www.theverge.com)
Decentered Podcast: Interview with creator of Blacksky (wedistribute.org)
This ended up being such a great interview. I know some people will shrug it off, because it’s Bluesky and not Mastodon, but Rudy’s a super smart dude and an amazing guest, and he shed a lot of light on building a community space for black people on an emergent platform. There’s so much good info coming from this man!

Public Broadcasters of Europe, Let's All Join Mastodon! (www.ebu.ch)
Is there a good tool to transfer subscribed communities to a new account on a different instance?
Or is it faster to do it manually? I am subscribed to almost 120 different communities, so would save a few clicks not having to do it manually.
Meta just showed off Threads’ fediverse integration for the very first time (www.theverge.com)
What are some of the more novel forms of fediverse software?
By novel I mean not emulating an existing popular platform, e.g. Lemmy-Reddit, Mastodon-Twitter, etc.
Lemmy.world seems to have banned the largest piracy community on Lemmy. (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

The Efforts to Extend ActivityPub (wedistribute.org)

Lemmy.ml is acting as a proxy instance for Hexbear and should be defederated by any instances that defederate from Hexbear
The mods of all the major communities there remove comments criticism Hexbear and usually follow it up with a ban. It’s absolutely clear what is happening and it shouldn’t be allowed to continue.
Oh, Zot! Nomadic Identity is Coming to ActivityPub (wedistribute.org)
Mike Macgirvin, the long-time developer that brought us Friendica, Hubzilla, Streams, and the Zot protocol, is bringing his most powerful concept to the rest of the Fediverse: Nomadic Identity.

Bluesky's Moderation Architecture | Bluesky (docs.bsky.app)
Today, we’re releasing an open labeling system on Bluesky. “Labeling” is a key part of moderation; it is a system for marking content that may need to be hidden, blurred, taken down, or annotated in applications. Labeling is how a lot of centralized moderation works under the hood, but nobody has ever opened it up for...
Font sizes on Lemmy: they vary too much?
If I have the right zoom level to make the text in the feed a sensible size, the font size in the threads is too small to read easily. Correct the zoom level in the thread and the font size in the feed becomes way too large....
