    @saluki @risottobias kbin or Lemmy?

    risottobias,

    @andypiper @saluki I think both sound fun, I lean over

    pfr,

    @risottobias @andypiper @saluki I've also seen get a mention but I can't seem to find any info on it.

    I've been on Lemmy for a while, how is Kbin different? Or is it like what Plemora is to Mastodon?

    risottobias,

    @pfr @andypiper @saluki still trying both out.

    First difference?

    On kbin I could follow someone else.

    Lemmy said they couldn't add it unless they rewrote the whole thing, so they said they won't.

    mistyislands,

    @saluki

    I left Reddit some years ago when the content moderation became too suffocating and the mods started to act like a bunch of ego-driven kinglets. I hope the anger with Reddit drives people to platforms such as Mastodon where moderation is less oppressive.

    @mistyislands Yeah, as I think about it more and more Reddit doesn't really deserve what they have currently.

    I guess my question is, would Mastodon be a good enough replacement for a large portion of Reddit users, or would we need a specialised app?

    aagot,

    @saluki @mistyislands mastodon works in a very different way than reddit does. At least how I use the two. Here I follow people, on reddit I follow topics. I guess I could follow hashtags here, but then the people I follow quickly drown.
