Too many people are focusing on #decentralization (prevention of takeover) as the most important thing about Mastodon. Here's why I think that's wrong: even a decentralised network can be a "freeze peach" cesspit of hatred, just like Twitter and other libertarian techbro social networks, if it chooses to be.
