expatriado,

when you hire a cannibal to write the news

fluxion,

But the serving size is the same as with any human! It’s the fat per serving you need to watch out for. Amateurs!

saltesc,

I’ll take the.crackling if you don’t want it.

Nika03,

Two fat hoes

YaksDC,

Two “utes” 😉

eth0slash0,

Two hwhat?

790,

This is valuable information, if you are interested in eating them.

pineapplelover,

When you try not to offend anybody and end up making it worse

Chunk,

People of size

wunami,
@wunami@lemmy.world avatar

Could be malicious compliance in the face of a policy to be “politically correct”.

dwan,

Is it ok if I’m laughing? I don’t want to offend my low calories soy milk.

FlyingSquid,
@FlyingSquid@lemmy.world avatar

I don’t know, calling myself high calorie sounds nicer than calling myself fat. Maybe I’ll call myself high calorie from now on.

They don't want to say "obese" because of the women who want to be known as "plus-size".

They don't want to say "plus-size" because of sexism of obese people. You don't see plus-size as a label for obese men, at least as much as obese women.

So they just say "high-calorie humans", as it is the perfect way to address both sexes (understand why I didn't say gender) who decided to ruin their health.

fugepe,

Two fat fucks cheeto snorting, cheezwiz drinking, McDonald’s serial eater, watermelon-with-feet-looking land whales

ICastFist,
@ICastFist@programming.dev avatar

Don’t forget that they’re DIET coke drinkers, because they want to stay healthy

moosetwin,

Knees weak, arms are heavy, you got vomit on your sweater already, mom’s spaghetti.

PointThink,

He’s nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready to drop bomb, but he keeps on forgetting

SuddenDownpour,

This screams manufactured outrage.

Smokeless7048,

Considering it’s “keep6solid”, and not any real news sources, yea.

over_clox,

They prefer the term ‘horizontally challenged’

Patrizsche,

How will they ever be recognized with those little masks

Spudwart,

Imperfect Cell writing articles now?

Fisk400,

It’s just someone being a smug asshole. Why else would they waste text to describe something that is shown in the picture.

Dangy,

Pictures are transcribed all the time for the visually impaired.

Fisk400,

It is also a useless description for the visually impaired. It doesn’t mention that they are in an elevator, what color the gas can is it any other useful information about the picture.

Cold_Brew_Enema,

God forbid anyone use the word “obese.” Don’t want to trigger anyone.

HardlightCereal,

The outlet that posted this is conservative and intended to rile people up on purpose.

18+ trekman10,
@trekman10@union.place avatar

You couldn't possibly know if they're obese unless you were their doctor.

Dntshoot,

Those fat asses are obese

Cold_Brew_Enema,

I can’t tell if this is sarcasm

Cabrio,
kajib,

It is! But it’s a bit sad we have to think about it.

trekman10,
@trekman10@union.place avatar

@kajib @Cold_Brew_Enema literally they are just fat. It's not anyone's business besides their own. That the original story/post makes note of them as even "high calorie" is ridiculous too

zaph,
@zaph@lemmy.world avatar

To be fair to people who are offended by this, the weight of the criminal seems entirely irrelevant so it’s pretty obvious that the intention was to rile people up.

Comment105,

The weight of the criminal is as relevant as their height, if not more. It’s not as long-term stable as height, but it’s at least as important as an identifier. Even more so in countries where obesity isn’t that common.

Halosheep,

There are some that consider the term obese to be derogatory.

I don’t agree with that opinion, but I can understand where they come from. I generally support body positivity with a heavy dose of realism. Being overweight shouldn’t be a reason for someone to treat you poorly, but pushing the idea that being overweight isn’t unhealthy is where I draw the line.

If I were medically overweight I’m sure I would also not like any term that directly points to something considered a very negative trait, however clinical the word is.
