As a #mastoadmin with an open singup instance, we have to take our personal feelings out of the equation when dealing with issues.
I'm seeing so many admins willy-nilly block entire instances over nonsense. We are providing a service for people, so think about those people first before doing anything drastic.
I hope users demand to know more about their instance admins. Find out if they are trustworthy, if they have a bad temper, if they are fit to handle and manage your account.
One good thing I was reading on the official Mastodon Roadmap is, they are planning on adding a feature (Roadmap item MAS-63) that will notify users when relationships are severed due to domain block
Instead of wondering where someone disappeared to, will get a notification of why they're missing in your timeline
That should make it easier to find the reason to jump an instance for another, esp when an instance is blocked &you have a dozen follows/ers
