I need any resources, guides, HOWTOs, man pages, codices, papyrus scrolls, clay tablets, and anything else you might have, by yourself or others, on the topic of running a Fediverse instance.
@greycat Administration is about as difficult as remembering to wake up in the morning, if you stick to a small instance. Best is to stick with users on your instance who you know.
If you're aiming to be a big instance ( > 200 users ), your life will exponentially get worse, in addition to you now working against the whole idea of a federated platform. You'll need to deal with a lot of reports, probably look into a moderation team. Costs of hosting will grow rapidly, and likely require donations to keep it within reasonable bounds.
I cannot stress this enough: do NOT try to become a popular instance. It's better for you, your potential users, and the #Fediverse at large if you stay small and cozy.
