#Mastodon forms new 501(c)(3) non-profit entity with new board of directors in the United States to facilitate tax-deductible donations and in-kind support:
@NatureMC they “can fill in at your job for you”, so are they filling in for someone or are they a director in their own right, we need transparency!!!!!!!!!!1!!

@NatureMC@Mastodon Yes, I did. Currently, I’m a Patreon donor for Mastodon. I switched from Open Collective to Patreon coz @Gargron mentioned that contributions to Patreon helps fund staff salaries but not ones to Open Collective. Hence my Q about the U.S.-based non-profit.
@pratik we will update the website with more information. This is very fresh and we wanted to announce it asap, but we are working on updating everything.
