As calls grow for an early election I'll repost this:
As the Institute of Government warn, not for 40 years has an election been so close to the deadline for setting annual budgets across Govt.
A November election would leave national & local governance facing a funding cliff-edge with little idea of what new budgets will be in April 2025.
The Tories, knowing they are going to lose, could put off the election & cause chaos across the country, they'd then blame on Labour...
