Oh yeah, that's part of what I mean. My problems with the FBI (and law enforcement in general) are related to the balance of power and the mechanisms available for protecting the public. The widespread issues of white supremacist and/or christian dominionists in positions of authority over regular people are a huge problem, but I bet DeSantis is all about those guys. They're his people, even if just for political convenience.
I'm all for a partial purge: we should purge it of every agent who was willing to overlook the law because of political bias. Anyone who does their job, regardless of their political beliefs, should stay.
I feel like he's pulling an RFK Jr. No chance at winning the primaries, so he's just going to blurt off things that many people will resonate with (but have no chance at happening), then when he loses people will feel cheated. Kinda like Bernie
I wonder if he would actually do half the things he is campaigning on. A lot of what he doing in Florida are just populist policies to score points with idiots. He is fully aware they are gonna be challenged and likely overturned (or scaled down) by courts, but he just cares about the immediate "news" points he gets when the law is passed and he brags about it.
Definitely abhorrent human being willing to do anything just to score politically.
Smith sought the order to ensure that neither Trump nor codefendant Walt Nauta, Trump's presidential valet, disclose sensitive information obtained during the discovery process, where prosecutors will show the defense what evidence it has amassed during their investigation into Trump's handling of classified documents since leaving office.
They shut that door to witness pressure real quick. No anti-tweets about how "so and so" is the "real big liar" and "take america back" rally at "the nearest public venu to so and so's house." I hope he does it anyway. Let him hold the shovel just a moment longer. It's almost past 6ft.
Several of the nation's most powerful unions — including the AFL-CIO, American Federation of Teachers and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees — officially endorsed Biden's campaign on Friday. The first-of-its-kind joint endorsement among the unions, and the backdrop of hundreds of workers are part of a meticulously choreographed effort to show the support of labor behind what Biden himself calls the most pro-union president in history.
He prevented the strike but also got the workers sick leave, which was one of the demands. More than 60% of U.S. unionized railroad workers now get sick leave.

CBS News has learned the House Ethics Committee is also seeking to learn the identities of the people who helped Santos make bond, as the panel investigates any possible violation of the House Gift Rule.
“We wouldn’t tolerate this from a city council member or an alderman,” Sen. Dick Durbin, an Illinois Democrat and chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said of Thomas in a recent hearing. “And yet the Supreme Court won’t even acknowledge it’s a problem.”
So far, the court has chafed at the prospect of such reforms. Though the court recently laid out its ethics practices in a statement signed by all nine justices, Chief Justice John Roberts has not directly addressed the recent revelations. In fact, he has repeatedly suggested Congress might not have the power to regulate the court at all.
