That makes sense, though. Just getting “the word” out there is a massive part of winning elections. No one votes for you if they don’t know who you are. Today that can be a challenge there are so many people. I’d look more closely at the other expenditures for ridiculous spending. Though I suppose its easy to launder “advertising” money.
I’ve always assumed that the bulk goes into advertising on TV and radio, billboards and other signage, phone banks, and of course the occasional bribe.
