I must say i liked the smaller size very much because for me AC Odyssey and AC Valhalla are too big.
IMHO the contents counts, not the possible playtime.
For me it's even worth the full price.
For a lot of environmental micro detail, such as rocks, grass, and the like, they’ve taken what looks like an asset-driven approach, which holds up at medium distance, but is often pixelated up close. There are also some awkward level of detail transitions. (1/2)
To do any better here, my guess is they’d have to implement systems like Nanite (micro-polygon rendering / mesh shaders), ray tracing, and more sophisticated procedural shading for environments.
Overall materials work, use of motion blur, and, of course, character rendering at the highest level of detail is all astounding, though. I think this is basically as good as it gets with a whole slate of traditional rendering and production techniques. (2/2)
#PS5 protip: if a game's headphone mix sounds like it's got way too narrow a soundscape, try disabling “3D Audio for Headphones" in the PS5's OS-level settings.
In the past I noticed that #DeathStranding sounded really muddy in headphones and have noticed the same with #FinalFantasyVIIRebirth. The latter sounds better with 3D audio turned off, and thankfully the headphone mix is otherwise fine.
Sent this in to Square Enix, for whatever it’s worth!
The real tell is that imaging sounds completely wrong for positional audio, so, hopefully they can look in to it. An in the meantime, disabling “3D audio for headphones” greatly improves things.
It’s taken since last July because I don’t often get the #PS5 to myself, but I finally finished #FinalFantasyVIIRemake and INTERmission! I loved most of it except a couple of the late-game bosses. Looking forward to playing CC Reunion next. #ShareYourGames
Sony is preparing to release a more powerful PS5 console by the end of the year, according to @theverge
Leaked specs suggest the PS5 Pro will have a GPU that's 45% faster than the standard PS5, and will focus on improving ray tracing, as well as "hitting higher resolutions and frame rates in certain titles."
“Codenamed Trinity, the PlayStation 5 Pro model will include a more powerful GPU and a slightly faster CPU mode. All of Sony’s changes point to a #PS5 Pro that will be far more capable of rendering games with ray tracing enabled or hitting higher resolutions and frame rates in certain titles.” #gaming
I replayed #FinalFantasyVIIRebirth#PS5's intro yesterday. I am just captivated by the work the team put in to not just present the imagery of the original game at a higher fidelity, but also the characterization and storytelling.
There is a very specifically iconic shot they recreated in this intro. Easily one of the most famous shots in gaming history. As far as I’m concerned it only works because of all the new stuff.
