@jcrabapple@cliffwade To be honest, I would have to agree. When I was at ATT upgrading my iPhone last, I took a look at the Samsung foldable and wasn’t too impressed. Now I do know that Apple WILL do it right so I’m just waiting for the iPhone foldable. 😉

I had not considered that distinction, but they are two distinct classes of device (foldable tablet vs. foldable/flip phone).
I don't think it's obvious they could never be that thin, though. I keep being impressed by how much they can miniaturize these things. @kylewritescode@jcrabapple
@cliffwade@jcrabapple I’m really not sure they are going to be as thin as current phones unfortunately. Just do to how the internals have to be for each side.
@cliffwade@jcrabapple I agree. The Galaxy Fold are a bit too think. That’s why I feel Apple hasn’t came to the market just yet. That and the whole screen crease issue.

@kylewritescode Definitely not yet. Foldables aren’t ready for Apple to make one. The tech is nice but fails the durability test. IMO it's simply not there yet. @cliffwade@jcrabapple
@kylewritescode I could be wrong. I just don't feel it's "there" yet for Apple to embrace it. If they do it right and can avoid the crease issues, I'd def be more interested. Guess we'll find out in Sept! @cliffwade@jcrabapple
@Aaron@cliffwade@jcrabapple Honestly, I too don’t think it’s there yet. It’s too early for Sept IMO we’d be seeing CAD maybe mock-ups, but, Apple has surprised us.
@kylewritescode On a hardware side, it's so hard for them to keep secrets. Hence why Dynamic Island was such a WOW moment: all software.
I know foldables are interesting but I just can’t see how the iPhone gets there with the current tech. Apple is always late to the game in order to perfect the category’s shortcomings. To me, the folding tech hasn't been sussed out enough yet.
