@cordillera although it's by Larian Baldur's Gate isn't like Divinity, because it's based on D&D. I played a bit of the early access and enjoyed it, haven't started the full game yet but I guess whether you would like it depends on what soured you previously.

As for games with chatty party members, have you ever played Spellforce 3? It's a mix of RTS and RPG.

@cordillera it's a pretty unique game, but you need to like RTS camp building/defense style
