But that doesn’t make it sound like Google is evil-bad, I suppose.
@cassidy@arstechnica I was about to say. When someone subscribed to Pixel Lass two years ago, they immediately received the Pixel 6. They then spent the next 2 years in a no-interest payment plan to pay off that Pixel 6, plus Google services bundled at a discount.
Mildly disappointing that Google is killing it off, but Google didn't just take people's money and run.

Suppose it was a decent deal if Google kills it off before a full term.
Only used it for the #youtubepremium and #googleplaypass subscriptions, and I think it was still cheaper than buying the phone and those plans piecemeal. IIRC.
@rotopenguin@arstechnica Throwing away your phone is not the only way to get it. Many phones, including the Pixel line in particular, get regular OTA updates.
