European people only, please. And don't look it up. Just your impulsive reply :) Was 9/11

@jwildeboer for any other date I would have voted otherwise.

TBH I am amazed it was 1989-11-09 because I only remember the year basicly and "autumn"

@hook

Oh and if there was no Year mentioned I am sure many Germans would have thought Porsche 911 instead of 2001-09-11

@jwildeboer It's strange how we in Europe knew 9-11 was going to happen over a month before Americans found out in November.

RevPancakes,

@jwildeboer 11-09-2001

I was studying for an exam while listening to the news. I'l never forget... and immediately alerted a colleague whose sweetheart lived in Washington that something serious was afoot ...

🤔
0.818181 period in alphabet infinite HAHAHA...damn missed the impulsive moment.

OE3CTB,

@jwildeboer I voted but ... WHY this question? Did I miss something that happened 10 years later?

@jwildeboer on the 11th of September, but isn't the choice just US and EU wrtiting for the date?

jwildeboer,
@jwildeboer@social.wildeboer.net avatar

@Bugspriet The choice is ISO 8601. Which leaves no ambiguity. It is yyyy-mm-dd. The only way to record dates.

  • danny,

    @tony @jwildeboer but the USA uses the MM/DD/YYYY format

    marjolica,

    @jwildeboer Clearly, as this is iso date/time: yyyy-mm--dd. Doesn't excuse the USA misstating something that happened on 11/9/2001 (which at least get the order dd-mm-yyyy right, in a small endian way) as 9/11/2001 which just mangles it.

    @ruurd@mastodon.social avatar

    @jwildeboer anybodies guess is correct because you do not specify the format. But guessing you mean the day airplanes flew into the WTC in NY…

    @ainmosni@berlin.social avatar

    @jwildeboer Making it a bit easier by using ISO format. :)

    @jwildeboer (assuming iso-8601 date format)

    mrpelz,

    @jwildeboer You should’ve asked with a lesser known date and I might have actually struggled with this. :P

    chertograd,

    @jwildeboer It was said so often (and for a good reason) on the media that "September 11th" really stuck.

    77nn,

    @jwildeboer
    How could this be wrong?
