Despite having nearly 100 followers I get hardly any replies or responses to inquiries when I post straight up questions. I’m not sure what’s going on, perhaps I’m being muted by everyone. It feels fairly isolating to only have one or two people who follow me regularly interacting with my posts, though. And one of my “slowest” accounts on another instance is now the most active. Strange how everything changes.
And perhaps this is my own doing by sort of creating compartments out of my four accounts. As I wane in and out of activity of one type or another, perhaps my interest or level of posting activity on each reflects that and therefore the level of interaction I receive in return.
@anniegreens possibly? I certainly wouldn't be able to cope with that.
I have a social.lol account only because that was the only way to send status.lol updates to Mastodon (that's changed now) but otherwise I want all my eggs in one basket or I'd forget to check the others!
I'm on a front end dev specific instance, and when I was very active on twitter in 2021/22 frontend dev was my focus there too - but I still bring all of me to this account.
@sarajw I’ve found that one account doesn’t work well for me. I have a pretty serious medical condition that is an inconvenience in a world that doesn’t want to consider others, and I’d risk alienating a lot of people with the type of stuff I have to post about (or I’d lose my mind nowadays). I also have a lot of other interests, and having multiple accounts with different focuses really helps with the way my mind works. Both elk.zone and Ivory allows me to seemlessly move between them.
