@w7voa I blocked and reported as well. There is some guy making multiple “clone” accounts and sending out the exact same message. Definitely a game of #WhackATroll
they will keep creating new accounts so we have to keep whacking.
@w7voa Reports have the same underlying mechanism whether coming from phone or desktop (in theory at least) which should notify both your journal.host admin and mastodon.social's. You can block the account but assuming reasonably competent admins the problem should go away upon report.
@w7voa Using the Web interface, click the ellipses at the bottom right of the post. Choose Report. Make sure to point out YOUR account is authenticated
I thought you were famous, but now I think it's the same kind of BS I'm seeing in WhatsApp. If you've tried to fight it via Meta, then you have probably discovered that Zuck's main concern is with making the evidence go away.
Solutions? Hold Zuck accountable for the crimes, but fat chance of that happening.
I do think a general anti-scamming-spammer system could work. Iterative focus on removing the money so the sane criminals stop, but too few characters to discuss such ideas here.

I was just looking at mastodon.social's server rules to report that account! I think it violates rule 5: "Do not share intentionally false or misleading information" since it's intentionally impersonating you. That's what I'll use, but I'm no expert. If someone more knowledgeable advises something else, go with that! Good luck!
