isntitvacant, Just finished Stephen King’s “On Writing”, which needs no recommendation from me (but gets one anyway.)
“On Writing” ties together a lot of disparate lessons I’ve been acquainted with elsewhere into a consistent personal philosophy.
Things like: write for a specific audience, don’t show incomplete work, get distance from the work before starting another draft, resist the urge to do the reader’s thinking for them. Ruthlessly delete adverbs.
