georgetakei,

Word on the street is that Jim Jordan may actually lose rather than gain support on this second round of balloting because he really is the worst. Oh, and New York Republican members, if you vote for Jordan as your leader, you will wear that around your neck come November next year. Voters don’t like extremism. You’d best remember that.

@georgetakei Unfortunately there are a few voters who do like extremism and it's a decent part of why we are currently desperately flailing at the brink of the destruction of democracy in America.

@georgetakei Gym's team have been threatening the Republicans who aren't supporting him. In at least one case, they threatened the wife of a Representative, warning her that her husband would never win another election if he didn't get on-board with Jordan. Those tactics are causing these members to double-down on their opposition to Jordan.

@georgetakei Maybe I'm a bit naive, but wouldn't it be the best solution if some moderate Republicans become Democrats 🤔

jpwkeeper,

@georgetakei So he gained 2 but lost 4, and it appears there is one more vote than last time total, not sure who.

@georgetakei The street seems to be correct.

MicyMontu,

@georgetakei it's sure looking that way during this vote.

@georgetakei Anthony D'Esposito voted for Lee Zeldin last time, who is also an insurrectionist.

BalooUriza,

@georgetakei I feel like this applies to any Republican nominated to Speaker.

@georgetakei I live near Stefanik's district, but not in it. I get to hear her TV ads pushing extremism and get annoyed when she lauds Jordan as the best candidate for Speaker. However, I don't get to vote against her.

Then again, I'm not represented by her, so there's a bright spot. I'm much happier being able to turn off her TV ads knowing that I have a sane Democrat representing me. I wish people in Stefanik's district all the luck in kicking her out.

gatitakicksass,

@georgetakei Yup. Each and every round he will lose more. Because he is a traitor and a legislative terrorist.

@georgetakei
The best solution to the GOP debacle is to stop voting for the GOP.
