Of course there's foreign money making the #HousingCrisis worse.

But don't underestimate two other factors:

• excessive wealth accumulation by domestic parties looking for safe investments
• collusion between developers and landlords to constrain supply and drive up prices.

Lots of reasons behind the housing crisis

1. NIMBY zoning
2. Racist HOA's
3. Under-utilized commercial real estate that can't be converted to housing (tax subsidies, Wall Street financial instruments)
4. Blackrock & private equity hedge funds & housing commodification
5. Governments enjoy the inflated tax revenue of overpriced homes
6. Banks profit from overvalued mortgages
7. Real estate developer scams, lock up buyer's deposits for years until the project is 75% sold

The biggest cause of poverty is the lack of industry, same with starvation.
Industry needs money and billionairs have money and build industry. Thats kinda the jist of it. They arent Heros, but they are vital to a functioning society.
