@ClimateMigration
I thought the function of this account was to promote the climate relevant fediverse accounts and theit interesting posts, but it is currently just publishing big amounts of posts if twitter.
Did I misunderstood the purpose of your account? I ask it to know whether I should continue following yiu or not.

@kjr

Thanks for the question. If you click on the Following below the profile it lists which accounts this account follows. On a daily basis posts are scanned for relevance to Climate issues and selected to be boosted. There are a few reflector accounts in the list, but most are native Mastodon/Fediverse. Today IEA (which is indeed a Twitter bot) had a lot of posts which were deemed relevant. It is not usually the case. If you do not want to see any particular account you can also block it.

@ClimateMigration thanks a lot for the answer.
I cannot see the profiles you follow, but I will follow your advice of blocking individual birdmakeup accounts.

@kjr

This link should work: https://mastodon.world/@ClimateMigration/following

Offhand, it looks like the IEA account is the only twitter bot, so blocking that should do the trick.

Just FYI, the reason these accounts are followed is that they are chosen from accounts that others on the list follow. That is, climate scientists here generally also follow these accounts.

@ClimateMigration I have blocked it, but my home thread is yet overflowed with birdmakeup m stuff... no idea, I will look for other solutions.

@kjr Another way to use this account is to just use the Following list to choose which climate scientists you might want to follow directly. Also, the boosts from this account can be 30 or more posts per day, so people usually like to create their own list for it so as not to overwhelm their feed. @ClimateMigration thanks, that is helpful

If you like astronomy check out @AstroMigration ... No bots there! (joke)

We are in a golden era of astronomy, and it can be quite uplifting after wading through all the climate news. Some of it gets pretty technical though, so muting and blocking and lists is a good approach to tailor it to your preferences.
