The concentration of wealth among a few creates economic inequality, allowing the rich to dominate crucial means of production. This control sustains a system that exploits the working class, resulting in poverty as the majority struggles for fair wages and resource access. Replacing capitalism with common ownership of the means of production is the key to eradicating poverty.

@gi124 That's due to the stigmatizing of communism and socialism over the past 150+ years. But, of course, the truth doesn't become untrue just because it's controversial. The only way to combat this stigmatization is by continuing to promote communism and socialism, otherwise, if we stop, the capitalist will truly win.

@rticks@gi124 There are versions on socialism that are friendly to democracy, like Democratic Socialism and Social Democracy, but democracy (when I say democracy I mean the system of government where the majority vote rules over the minority vote) is completely against communism, which is the abolishion of the state, classes, and all hierarchy, both authoritarian and democratic hierarchy.
So I am no.communist so not my wheelhouze but methinks you are only referring to Anarcho communism or maybe even your interpretation of Marxism but Stalinist Communism and Leninist Communism were communism whether or not you liked it or personally consider it such

@rticks@gi124 The Soviet Union didn't achieve communism. Their economy was state controlled capitalism. The plan of the Soviet Union was to first introduce a capitalist economy controlled by the socialist state and, eventually, to abolish the state and transition the country into a communist society once the country was in a position to do so. But, as we all know, that didn't happen due to the inherent flaws of their system.

Per any dictionary, political scientist employed by any capitalist academic institution (which per your definition includes Venezuela North Korea and even Somalia) the Soviet Union was to them Communist
So for those of us who use words to communicate rather than indoctrinate communism is what people who practice it call it as such
