It’s glib, akin to the bumper sticker “Outlaw guns and only outlaws will have guns.”

It hinges on a non-expansive reading on the meanings of “to steal” and metaphoric action “piracy.”

I think large copyright holders frequently overreach in licensing terms and what they call piracy.

But, call it stealing or something else, subverting authorized channels because one doesn’t like the terms is wrong.
